the people's party - we've begun

fuck the democrats. fuck the republicans. they may have been two seperate parties at some point - i do not know. now they are way too much the same. we need a new party, a people's party. we've already begun. from moveon to act to acorn to true majority to indymedia to codepink to every single person who hit the ground in some way during the election to work to defeat bush: these incredible individuals, groups, neighborhoods and our supporters are the base of our party. let's do it. let's go from here.
in the next year, let's figure out 6 major issues we can all agree on and work towards; let's invite all the like-minded 3rd parties to join forces, like the green party, the peace & freedom party, the labor party - we must unite. we need a party that is class, race, sex, sexual-orientation conscious; that values & promotes diversity; that recognizes all forms of oppression & is committed to smashing them; that sees all the connections between war and wealth and our economy, our environment, our quality of life, our ability to honor and sustain all life on this planet. we can do it. we already have such a massive grassroots movement.
first we mourn - until tuesday. then we work!
